
Tulsa Zone Fall Fest

The 2017 Tulsa Zone Fall Fest was held at Christ the Redeemer,
Tulsa and hosted by the King of Kings LWML Society, Glenpool on
Saturday, September 16. After registration and a continental
breakfast provided by Christ the Redeemer Society, Susan Postier,
Zone President, welcomed everyone and made a few introductions.
Deon Hull spoke about his role as Mission Developer in the Tulsa
Zone and the importance of
Dartball! =) Pastor Rick Tabiz shared the opening devotion and homily. Kathy
Stephen, Zone Vice President, led the Bible Study "Repent and
Rejoice, A Reformation Bible Study" on Psalm 32.
Patti Ross, National LWML President, was the Mission Speaker. She
talked about what has happened during the last two years and shared
what to expect in the coming two year. She said the goals for LWML
are to: include mentoring with younger women; encourage more
involvement of Pastors and Seminarians so they know we are here as
their partners and their assistants; increase communication with
Districts that they become stronger over the next 2 years; and to
increase awareness about Giving Tuesday, as more than $23,000 was
raised in 2016 toward the LWML 2015-2017 Mission Goal. President
Patti shared her experiences meeting some of the Mission Grant
recipients. She also played the
2017 LWML Logo Reveal video and talked about the meaning of the
new logo.
Oklahoma District President, Dianna Just made a few introductions
and gave her report to the group. She said the next event for YWR is
Cookies for Courage on November 18 when they will gather to decorate
sugar cookies and deliver to police and fire stations. The District
has collected $76,000 of the 2016-2018 Mission Grants goal of
$103,000. Dianna asked everyone to gather eye glasses for the OK
District MOST Mission Trip in March to Lake Amatitlan, Guatemala.
She encouraged everyone to attend the"Be Refreshed at Lavender
Springs Spa" District Fall Retreat in Hinton, OK October 20-21. Mark
your calendars now for the "Great is Thy Faithfulness"OK District
Convention on April 13-14 in Lawton for our 90th Anniversary
Celebration!
The
2017-2019 Mission Grants video was played during the
luncheon. The Fall Fest ended with a report from Vicki Wing on Gifts
from the Heart
ingathering for Mercy Mission in Glenpool: 25 packages of
diapers, 1 pack of wipes, 1 can of formula, and 48 snacks. The Mite
Offering was $348.11.
The closing devotion was led by Pastor Tabiz. ~Susan Postier,
